German Pancake

Course Breakfast


  • 3 Tbsp butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 9-10 large eggs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp salt


  1. Preheat oven to 400ยบ

  2. Place butter in bottom of glass 9x13? baking dish to melt and brown (works better if you cut it in to smaller chunks)

  3. Mix dry ingredients, mix wet ingredients, combine and mix briskly for 30 seconds

  4. You don't want lumps, but some little ones are okay. Ideally, you'll let this mixture stand for 5-10 mins while the butter browns

  5. When the butter looks good, poor the entire mixture in to the pan and return to the oven

  6. Bake until hugely puffy and golden brown
